Today is an awful day for Aika fans. We knew this day would come eventually, but it feels very sudden and almost surreal. To know that in just 15 days, Aika’s 5 1/2 year long tenure as Morning Musume’s 8th gen member will come to an end is a tough concept to take in.

从*･ ｡.･）＜あと、高橋愛リーダーのモーニング娘。って出来上がっていたじゃないですか。みんなが愛ちゃんのことを慕っていたし、愛ちゃんバンザイ！みたいな。愛ちゃん、国王なのかな？みたいな！愛ちゃん帝国みたいな！ 卒業ライブの演出とかも凄かったし、スタッフさんも愛ちゃんのことを讃えていたから。このあとにリーダーって、さゆみだったら嫌だなと思ったんですよ。ファンもメンバーもスタッフもみんな「愛ちゃん！ 愛ちゃん！」ってなっていたリーダーの後にリーダーをやるプレッシャーは相当あると思うし。でも大変そうな顔とか、本当に見せないんですよ。だからもしかしたら愛ちゃん以上に凄い人なのかなと思って。リーダーになってからそれは思いますね。
Sayumi: And the MM led by Takahashi Ai had been a kind of completed form, hadn’t it? Everybody adored Ai-chan like “long live Ai-chan!”. I thought Ai-chan might be the king or something reigning Ai-chan’s empire. The production of her graduation tour was also amazing, coz all the staff praised Ai-chan. If I was in Gaki-san’s shoes, I would hate to take over the leader from Ai-chan. To succeed the great leader admired by all the fans and staff would be a huge pressure. But Gaki-san has never shown her hardships to us. So that made me think she might be greater than Ai-chan since she became the leader.
I think I’m gonna cry!
